Necklace length: 18 Inches; Pendant height: 16 Millimeters; Pendant width: 16 Millimeters

This simple and elegant pendant necklace is crafted using a small button from the cape of the Long-O that belonged to Cadet Willis McDonald, a 1920 West Point graduate.  This button predates the standardized USMA Coat of Arms...the eagle and Helmet of Athena face the opposite direction as they do today.

Cadet Willis entered USMA on June 14th 1918 as the last offensives of World War I were taking place.  The Hundred Days Offensive would begin as the Plebes began their classes.  The Treaty of Versailles was signed one year before their graduation.

Cadet Willis branched Calvary and after graduation, he served with the 7th Cavalry, Mounted, at Ft. Bliss, Texas.  He resigned his commission in 1922 and entered the world of business.  Willis McDonald died on February 26th 1982 in Litchfield Park, Arizona.

Keep history alive with this beautiful piece! It is the perfect gift for the mom of a USMA 2020 cadet...a 100-year affiliate class necklace.

The button is the size of a dime and has an elegant gold plated pendant bail.

This item comes with an 18-inch gold-plated chain and is packaged in a silver metal tin ready for gift-giving.
